Wiawso College of Education was greeted with bright smiles and prospects on a cloudy and rainy Thursday morning. The 1995 year group in fulfilling a promise to its adored alma-mater, came to present sports equipment to the College.
Selected members of the year group including Mr. Stephen Oheneaku, Mr. Joseph Manu, Mr. M.C Frimpong, Mr. James Taah, Very Rev. Samuel Kusi and Mr. Joseph Cudjoe arrived on campus at about 11:00am. The Vice Principal welcomed the team on behalf of the Principal and management of the College. After the welcome pleasantries, the team asked to be taken on a tour of the beautiful campus they missed so much. The team was excited about development in the College and praised management for the great work they are doing to lift the image of the College.
The team was very excited touring campus and reminisced the beautiful memories they had during their time on campus. Recounting memories with tutors and colleagues notable among them being the appointment of Mr. Stephen Oheneaku as Assistant School Prefect in charge of Special Duties. That position was conferred on him after he lost elections but was given that position because of the faith the tutors at the time had in him. A position that never existed on campus after he left the College.
After the tour, the team presented the items to the College stating that, more donations will come but this is only the tip of the iceberg. They presented male and female football jerseys, male and female volley ball jerseys, running vest, knee and elbow guards, footballs and volleyballs, running boots, goalkeepers’ gloves and lots more.
Management of the College were more than excited to receive this donation. Speaking on behalf of Management, the Vice Principal expressed enormous gratitude to the year group for their timely donation since the College was preparing for Zonal COESA games in July, 2025. He asked that more of such donations are always welcome to help the running of the College.
After the presentation, the team also thanked Management in a meeting for their warm reception and pledged their support to the College in future endeavors. Management also thanked them and asked them to express the appreciation of management to the whole year group. Rev. Canon Joseph Obiri Yeboah led a prayer to close the gathering at about 1:12pm for the team to depart.
